How to vote for Andre to make him Person of the year?
The fans in Holland asked us for help to make Andre person of the year. It is going well but some fans still seems
to be a bit confused about the voting. You cannot vote more than once a day, unless you vote with different
e-mail addresses and different IP addresses. I you think you do, something is going wrong. I tried to vote more
than once from my work. From different computers and with different names and E-mail addresses it does not
work, because the whole school has the same IP address. So all the computers are on the same network, so
unless you have two different internet providers and two different e-mail addresses you cannot vote more than
once a day for the same person!!!
To VOTE for Andre for person of the year, vote once a day as follows!!!
1.Go to: www.persoonvanhetjaar.nl Or for the German contest go to http://www.persondesjahres.de
2. If Andre is on the home page, click on STEM (Vote) next to his name.
If he is not on the homepage, follow the next steps:
a. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and find the alphabet (a,b,c, etc).
b. Click the letter r (for Rieu).
c. Another screen will appear. Scroll to the bottom and find the page Andre is on (I think the 3rd page)
d. With the little down arrow go to the number 3, the third page of the letter r will appear,
e. Find Rieu, Andre and click on STEM.
3. Another screen will come up, with his picture, it will ask you to fill in your email address. Do so and click on
OK.
That finishes your voting, you can close the site. Now for your vote to count, you have to confirm
that vote! In a few minutes you will get an e-mail from the "Persoon van het jaar site" in the inbox of
the e-mail address you used to vote.
4. To confirm your vote click on the blue line in that e-mail where it says "klik hier....etc".
You do have to do this last step and confirm your vote the same day for your vote to count! Now you
have cast your vote. You can do this once a day!!! Now you can vote a second time for a different
person, so you can vote for Marjorie Rieu, Suzan Erens, Carmen Monarcha and Carla Maffioletti too!!!
You can keep track of Andre's progress by checking "Tussenstand", at the time I write this Andre is up to number
14. When we all started voting for him, he was not even in the top 100. So Andre, you have come a long way,
baby. And we can do better. Do you know that with a second e-mail address you can vote from your local library,
from your friends homes with their email address. You can vote from work. You can ask your friends and family to
vote from their home with their email address, just explain how to do it. I just know we can get him in the top 10
soon.
You can also check the progress by going to "Groepen" Under mannen you can check Andre's progress by week
and month. Since we started our voting much later than most we have to come from behind, but we are making
up for lost time and are doing great.

Printing pages from this site.
I often have fans write me that they cannot print the pages on this site. That only half the page prints I am sorry,
I do not know how to set it up so you can also print the pages.
The site is made for reading and is set up for 1024 by 768 resolution. I am not computer literate enough to know
how to set it up so you can also print it.
However, most printers can also print in landscape mode, when your printer box comes up, go to preferences,
there go to features. Printers are usually set up in Portrait mode, at features you can choose to set up your
preference and here you can change it to landscape mode and your printer will print the page on the width of the
paper and Voila you have the whole page. You may miss a few letters, but from now on I will make all the new
pages a bit narrower so you can print the pages in landscape mode. Hope that helps.

Why do some fans wear a Red Flower?
I originally had the idea that the fans from this site, who in 2004 worked so hard to help with Andre's
promotion would wear a red carnation to the concerts, so we would recognize each other. We started this
during the concert tour of 2004 and by now many fans that visit this site, have taken over the idea. You will
even see fans in Europe with red flowers. Andre and his crew recognize the flowers and know what they
stand for, and they have commented on them. The flower originally was a carnation, but has turned into any
red flower, carnations are a bit hard to find at times. I have started to wear an artificial carnation with some
baby's breath. But any red flower is fine and Andre used a red rose on his CD this year. For the fans from
this site it is a fun way to recognize one other at the different concerts.
